Terms & Conditions

The following applies to all bookings without exception. By booking, you agree to:

  1. To ensure that we achieve as good a print as possible, we will gently apply firm pressure to the hand/foot in contact with the clay - we promise we aren’t hurting your little one and will do everything we can to make this a smooth experience for you and your baby. You agree for us to do this and will not hold us responsible for any discomfort/distress/marks caused during the print taking.
  2. If you have exact positioning requirements, you MUST tell us BEFORE we take the prints as afterwards may be too late. If you are in anyway unhappy with the quality of the prints/positioning, you MUST tell us IMMEDIATELY. Once the prints have been glazed and fired, the print cannot be amended and any re-prints will be taken at the full expense of the customer.
  3. The Pottery Loft uses ‘earthenware clay’ to create your beautiful prints. Occasionally, due to the nature of the products used and the firing process, cracking can occur. Although uncommon, this is completely outside of our control. In the unlikely event this does occur, we will contact you as soon as possible and ask you to return to the studio to re-take the prints. Naturally, hairline cracks can appear on imprints during the firing process - as the integrity of the piece is still intact, this should not be considered a fault but a naturally occurring part of the piece.
  4. During the firing process, small specks of ‘kiln dust’ may settle on any pot/prints in the kiln. Although we will do our best to remove these, it is unavoidable and as such should not be considered a fault if visible.
  5. All imprints in clay and plaster outprints will be complete at the end of the 2nd month from your visit. For example, any prints taken in January will be ready for collection by the end of March, as we complete these in monthly batches. We find this to be the best way to allow all pieces to thoroughly dry out before we start working on them. If we were to rush into completing prints before they were completely dry, the prints could be affected by mould/weakness in the future and as such, we cannot guarantee any prints will be ready before this. If this is an issue, please speak to a member of staff who will be happy to speak and advise on this. The Pottery Loft will contact you via the contact number left on your form once your prints are ready for collection. Please ensure this number is legible.
  6. Occasionally, customers may not have decided on their full requirements before/during their visit. This is fine, however your prints may fall into the next months batch if we do not have full order confirmation before we place our orders for frames etc. Please forward any missing information over to: potteryloftbespoke@gmail.com
  7. If you would like us to undertake any writing on your prints, the following points will apply: Please ensure all spellings are correct before you hand in your completed form - once the writing has been added to your prints and they have gone through the firing process, this cannot be changed. We always try to go forward with changes if given before this, however cannot guarantee any changes will be made. The Pottery Loft will not be held responsible for any customer spelling/grammar mistakes. Please specify exactly where you would like us to write the information and what colour you would prefer this to be in - if this information is not given, we will choose appropriately for you. Please ensure all writing is clearly legible on your form. The Pottery Loft will not be held responsible for deciphering unclear wording incorrectly. All commissioned writing is applied to the prints ‘free-hand’ by a trained member of staff. You agree that The Pottery Loft cannot guarantee that any splotches/blobs caused by our writer pens will not occur. The Pottery Loft will only accept liability for spelling errors if your clear, specified wording is not painted exactly how it appears on your form.
  8. A £10 booking deposit secures your 1-2-1 appointment, or £5 booking deposit secures your table during a normal session. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable with less than 24 hours notice of cancellation. Deposit(s) paid will be deducted from your total on the day of your visit.
